Briar Rose Cabin Tour

The cabin features an open floor plan with a cathedral ceiling and the second bedroom in the loft. 9 skylights keep the cabin filled with light.

The satellite TV and VCR are ready with a great supply of recent release tapes.

The kitchen includes a full-size stove, sink, and refrigerator. A microwave, blender, and coffee maker as well as a toaster oven make vacation cooking easy.

AND

We provide farm fresh eggs, a loaf of warm homemade bread, jam from our blackberries, and butter for your first breakfast!

The first floor bedroom has a standard double bed with sitting area and attached bathroom. The handmade quilt and original beadboard on the walls remind us of the vintage of this old farm cabin.

The loft bedroom has one twin bed, a full size double bed. There is plenty of floor space under the skylights for game playing, puzzles, or reading. It is a cozy place that seems to appeal especially to children.

The under bed drawers are full of old favorites like monopoly and parcheesi, puzzles and games for all. There are also books for all ages about nature and the history of the North Carolina Mountains. Many are by local authors with plenty of stories specific to this beautiful and rugged area.

The stairway to the loft has been built without the use of nails and features cherry, white , and red oak with walnut pegs.

The view from the loft offers a fanciful look back into the past with antiques and memorabilia filling the sunlit spaces.

The gardens around our farm have been landscaped with the rock our farm has been "blessed" with. Roses and Lavender are a few favorites that seem to thrive here. That is one of our Beltie cows behind the shed.

We also invite our guests to share in picking and using our garden produce in season. We keep our garden organic and you will delight in the variety of leaf lettuces to add to your salads.

The combination of open deck and covered porches allow outside living regardless of the weather. Seating, dining table and chairs, a gas grill and a hammock allow you to be as active or lazy as you desire.

A hot tub filled with mountain spring water just off the deck completes your day watching the spectacular Carolina night sky.

Large porches and decks invite you

to grab a book....or maybe a nap?

The Hot Tub is ready and waiting....

Even nicer under the stars,

and a great place to share

your morning coffee......

We are a working farm. We invite your to meet our Belted Galloway cows, the cashmere and dairy goats, gather eggs from our chickens, and enjoy the antics of the guineas.

We hope you will share the enthusiasm we feel for Briar Rose Farm and it's creatures.
