Activities in the Area

Briar Rose Farm is located in a rural area approximately 45 minutes northwest of Asheville and 25 minutes south of Hot Springs, North Carolina.

On the Farm itself, we have a creek, sawmill, farm animals , berries to pick in season, numerous photo opportunities, gardens to wander and a vegetable garden for the use of our guests. Please plan some time to just wander and ask questions since this is a working farm and we want it to serve as one of the highlights of your visit.

Our road also leads to a fire tower; a two mile hike with excellent long range views. Duckett Top Tower makes a nice hike and picnic destination as the road skirts Tug Fork Creek as it tumbles down the mountain.

Friezeland Creek borders the farm and is stocked with rainbow trout for those with a NC fishing license. Spring Creek is another trout stream within two miles of the farm.

The following links will take you to activities and event calendars all within 20 miles of the farm. These are all small town and rural/state/national forest areas north of the City of Asheville.
